Bodgaya Island, Borneo (East Malaysia)

Most tourists do not go there for its beach or long shorelines because Bodgaya is forest reserve which is more well-known with its Bajau Laut (sea gypsies) settlements with unique culture and lifestyle.

Since it Bohey Dulang is just next to Bodgaya Island, the boatman or tour guide will stop by for the tourists to have an authentic cultural experience with the stateless, nomadic Bajau Laut who lived in homes built on stilts and travel around by wooden boat called Lepa.

However, there is no accommodation in the marine park area but you can choose to stay at luxurious resorts in Pom Pom Island (about 20 minutes away), Mataking Island (about 30 minutes away), Mabul Island (about 1.5 hours away) or a more affordable accommodation at Semporna town (about 35 minutes away).
