Besar Island, Peninsular (West Malaysia)

Pulau Besar (The Large Island) is located at the east coast of Johor, Peninsular Malaysia. Pulau Besar is clustered with two more islands. They are Pulau Hujong (Hujong Island) and Pulau Tengah (Tengah Island). It has very clean and white beaches with crystal clear water. It is once a fishing village but currently tt has been specified as a marine park by the Government to preserve the marine life. The island offers many water sports such as snorkeling, scuba diving and more. You can also sunbathing and strolling along the beach, enjoying the cool breeze from the sea.

It is accessible from Mersing town by 30 minutes boat rides from Mersing Jetty. It is around 13km away from Mersing. To get to Mersing Jetty, drive from Johor Bahru to Kota Tinggi and from there, look out for signs indicating the way to Mersing town. There, you will easily get to Mersing Jetty. The journey from Johor Bahru takes as long as 2 hours.
