Getting to Redang Island
The most convenient access is by boat from Shahbandar Jetty and Merang Jetty at Kuala Terengganu. There are boats operated by resorts of Redang Island.
If you wish to visit Bidong Island and Lang Tengah Island they are also a stone throw away from Merang Jetty.
Otherwise, the most direct way to reach the Redang Island is by flying directly to the island's small airport at Redang Airport (RDN), which can only be arranged by a few specific resorts on the island.

Season
Redang Island is affected by the Northeast Monsoon’s strong winds and rough seas. Most resorts will be closed from December to January. The good thing about visiting Redang Island during these months, is that some resorts that remain open on the island may offer very good deals i.e. The Taaras Beach & Spa Resort.
Redang Marine Park Conservation & Jetty Fees
Redang Island along with its 8 surrounding islets are gazetted as Marine Park. These islands are around 45km east of Terranganu's coast including Redang Island, Paku Besar Island, Paku Kecil Island, Kerengga Besar Island, Kerengga Kecil Island, Lima Island, Pinang Island, Ling Island & Ekor Tebu Island. Fishery activities are strictly prohibited in the surrounding area.
For this very reason, colorful corals and tropical fishes can normally be seen from just a few meters away from the beach in Redang Island.
